The Ontario Minor Hockey Association’s Minor Midget AAA Showcase powered by Under Armour took place in St. Catharines on January 28 and 29 and was another exciting event showcase the talent from all across the province.
Ten teams from the South-Central AAA Minor Midget League competed over the weekend in a series of games in front of Ontario Hockey League scouts ahead of the upcoming draft in April. Below are photos from the event, including the Bantam Combine and Prospects Game as well as the Midget All-Star Game.
There were 40 Bantam players from across the SCTA who participated in the second annual Bantam Combine Powered by Under Armour. The event featured on-ice drills that measured players' reaction speeds, agility and quickness. From there, players moved to the gym for a stretch with trainers from Elite Training Systems before measuring their vertical jumps, core power and running speed.
Later in the day the two teams squared off in the Bantam Prospects game, getting ready to be the next group of #NextOnes.
The always exciting Midget All-Star Game had the best of the ETA and SCTA square off in a thrilling matchup. The game went to a shootout, where the SCTA defended home ice and captured the victory. With the newly announced OHL Midget Draft, this group made their mark.
The #NextOnes were on display at Seymour Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre. Here are some of the best photos from the weekend.
