Key Calendar Dates for the 2024-25 Season

As the 2023-24 season winds down, Player Evaluations for the 2024-25 season are just around the corner. With that in mind, all Associations have been encouraged to review key dates within the 2024-25 Seasonal Calendar and specifically the start dates for Player Evaluations established by the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF).

If your child is interested in trying out for a Representative team please read the information below in full and reference your local association website or contact them directly for specifics in regards to evaluations.

Player Evaluations for Representative teams will again take place in the Spring as was implemented for the 2023-24 season.

2024-25 SPRING PLAYER EVALUATIONS

AGE DIVISION	START DATE
U10 – U13	AAA – April 20 AA – April 27 A & below – May 4
U14-U18 (excluding U18 AAA)	AAA - April 22 AA - April 29 A & below - May 6
U18 AAA	Follow OHF Regulation K: U18 AAA (page 139)

SPRING PLAYER EVALUATIONS | U10-U13

Prep PHASE	May begin March 2 Players are not required to attend the preparation skates; attendance does not impact eligibility to attend Player Evaluations Only players no longer engaged in regular season, or playoffs permitted to participate
EVALUATION PHASE	Player Evaluations are delivered in 7-day windows All Players participate in minimum three (3) On-Ice Player Evaluations AAA Evaluations begin April 20 AA Evaluations begin April 27 A & below Evaluations begin May 4 Through to June 30 associations and teams can provide skill development sessions (1-2X/week over 6-7 weeks) – no games are permitted
DEVELOPMENT PHASE	Teams selected in the Spring may begin sanctioned team activities August 26 through September 29 - must be a minimum of 27 days

SPRING PLAYER EVALUATIONS | U14-U18 (excluding U18 AAA)

U18 AAA will continue to follow OHF Regulation K: U18 AAA (page 139).

2024-25 Fall Player Evaluations

For Association that are outside the Lake Ontario Region (LOR), Teams at AA & below may deliver Player Evaluations in the Fall.

U10 – U18	May begin on September 9

Prep PHASE	May begin September 3
EVALUATION PHASE	All Evaluations may begin September 9 No Evaluations the first week of school Player Evaluations are delivered in 7-day windows All Players participate in a minimum three (3) On-Ice Player Evaluations
DEVELOPMENT PHASE	Must be a minimum of 14 days regardless of start date

U9 & BELOW

Prep PHASE	May begin September 3 - must be 6 days
EVALUATION PHASE	All Evaluations may begin September 9 Player Evaluations are delivered in 7-day windows
DEVELOPMENT PHASE	May start September 16 Must be a minimum of 14 days regardless of start date
