2024 OMHA Championships Recap: 45 Teams Win #RedHats

For the past four weekends, there were sights and sounds across Ontario of kids smiling and cheers that could be heard from outside community rinks in Brampton, Halton Hills, Kingston, Newmarket, Oakville and Whitby.

Over 660 games took place at the 2024 OMHA Championships presented by Egg Farmers of Ontario. More than 350 teams attended to crown 45 Champions across nine age groups.

Parents and grandparents packed into arenas cheering on their children. Skaters carved up the ice with huge smiles on their faces on the road to the #RedHats, the Ontario Minor Hockey Association’s coveted prize for its champions.

Leading up to the OMHA Championship weekends were League championships and regional qualifying events where teams could punch their tickets to get to these OMHA Championship weekends. The format is designed so that every OMHA participant plays more meaningful hockey into March and beyond. In the past, tournament playdowns saw some teams knocked out and their season’s end in January.
