U16 and U18 AAA Top 5 Rankings presented by Hudl

The Ontario Minor Hockey Association has released the sixth edition of the U16 and U18 AAA Top 5 Rankings presented by Hudl for the 2023-2024 regular season. These rankings will be released on a bi-weekly schedule.

U16 AAA Rankings

Teams are gaining momentum on winning streaks heading into Qualifiers with just two weeks left in the regular season.

Players to Watch

Logan Hawery (Barrie Jr. Colts): A player that has a lot of offensive skill, but also does the small details well. Not only does he have a strong shot and excellent playmaking ability, he also has a strong stick and is hard on pucks. This allows him to win a lot of battles when he is in the corners or near the net. Hawery also plays well away from the puck, knowing when to dart into openings or time his routes so he can get a lot of pucks in stride, allowing him to strike quickly on offence.

Reid Crossman (Buffalo Regals): You cannot leave Crossman alone with any time and space as he will make you pay. He has an excellent nose around the net, knowing where to find rebounds and loose pucks. His movement off the puck is also strong, finding soft areas consistently. With this anticipation, he then can rely on his excellent finishing ability, as his release is quick and accurate. Crossman keeps his team in a lot of games and has helped his team move up the standings.

U18 AAA Rankings

The Top 5 remain strong with some back and forth still taking place at this part of the season.

Players to Watch

Daniel Giusti (Ajax Pickering Raiders): A quick and determined goaltender. He is very athletic and has the ability to challenge shooters effectively, demonstrating confidence in facing shots head-on. His exceptional balance allows him to make agile movements in the crease, ensuring he can react swiftly to shots from different angles. A standout feature is his strong lateral movement, enabling him to cover the net efficiently and make critical saves. Giusti is a formidable presence in the goal crease, instilling confidence in his team's defensive efforts.

Nash Giles (Burlington Eagles): A dynamic and smart player with quick hands and a natural goal-scoring touch. His skating, combined with playmaking prowess down low, makes him a threat in all situations. Defensively, he leverages his big frame and reach effectively to keep opponents to the outside. A versatile presence on the ice, he excels in power plays, penalty kills, and critical moments. With his hockey sense and the ability to contribute on both ends, he's a valuable asset to his team.
