The OMHA and CoachThem are excited to reveal the winners of the OMHA Team of the Month for November!

The program is aimed at recognizing minor hockey teams in the province making a positive impact on the ice and in their communities who demonstrate all of the positives that hockey has to offer.

This award isn’t about going undefeated during the month or scoring hat tricks, it’s about stories of teamwork and perseverance, leadership and being good role models in and around the rink. We want to hear the stories of food drives, helping a teammate, making new friends and having fun!

Three teams will be selected every month, with each coach receiving a CoachThem prize pack. 

Mariposa U13 Blue HL: We have two new to hockey kids on the team this year and our seasoned teammates have been doing an amazing job helping them out. Giving pointers. Encouragement. Bringing each other up even when they feel defeated. An amazing group of kids for U13 Blue.

Woolwich U15 A: While at a recent tournament, players and parents support Hayden's Hope Foundation and their Jammie Day for Hayden. In doing so they gathered funds together to make a donation to support this organization that supports pediatric cancer families. Jammie Day raises awareness that pediatric cancer patients spend lots of their life in PJs while undergoing treatment. Hayden was a leukemia warrior who's family has chosen to spend her anniversary raising awareness. It was easy for this group to support the work of such an amazing group!

Talbot U15 C: The team consists of players that have never played with each other. New teammates, especially 14 and 15 year old teenage boys, becomes a challenge in the dressing room and on the ice. We can successfully say that the coaching methodology of team on and off the ice is deemed to be successful. New friendships have been made and the team is gelling nicely on the ice with impressive start to the season. “We won’t remember the wins or losses, we will remember the friendships we made playing the great game of hockey”
