The third annual OHL Under-18 Priority Selection draft wrapped up on Wednesday night for Midget-aged players to be selected by OHL teams.
For the third year in a row, the first overall pick was used on an OMHA player. Goalie Aidan Spooner of the Barrie Jr. Colts was selected by the Kingston Frontenacs, joining Mitchell Weeks (Sudbury Wolves) and Victor Hadfield (Barrie Colts) as players chosen with the top selection. In total there were three OMHA players selected in the first round.
The Ontario Minor Hockey Association had nine players from seven teams picked. The OMHA Midget AAA Champion Kingston Jr. Frontenacs and Niagara North Stars both had two players chosen. Five of the picks were netminders. See a full list of all the OMHA players chosen at the bottom of the page.
The draft lasted two rounds with a team receiving a third round selection if they chose a goalie within their first two picks.
