With many of the semifinals matchups now wrapped up, the final stage of the OMHA hockey season has arrived. The best teams from each bracket now battle for #RedHats as the competition reaches the championship level. This is what teams have been working for throughout the last few months. Here are some Teams to Watch in OMHA Playdowns presented by Egg Farmers of Ontario.

Novice East DD – Centre Hastings Grizzlies/Flesherton Golden Hawks
Two offensive powerhouses that have had similar paths to the Playdowns finals now face off to determine who will walk away with #RedHats. The Golden Hawks will be looking to repeat as Novice East DD champions. Though unfamiliar with each other during the year, both teams appear to be evenly matched. Prepare for a lot of goals.
Atom AA – Caledon Hawks
After being a top team most of the regular season and during preliminaries, the Hawks got a wakeup call in the quarterfinals, being taken to the limit in a winner take all series before punching their ticket forward. Caledon has shown it can quickly shake off a loss and don’t look back on mistakes they may have made.
Bantam C – Delhi Rockets
The Rockets had an up and down regular season when it came to consistency but have turned it around in Playdowns and now find themselves just six points away from #RedHats. They’ve locked in during Playdowns, playing defensive hockey and finding themselves one step ahead on the scoreboard. The finals of Playdowns won’t be easy and the Rockets will have to earn it.
Midget AE 3-5 – Pelham Panthers
The Panthers understand pressure, trading wins in one-goal games in the quarterfinals before a convincing victory to move onto the semifinals. They can light the lamp early and often and their opponents will have a hard time containing them. The Panthers look poised to make a serious run at #RedHats once again.
