The Ontario Minor Hockey Association has released the seventh edition of the Bantam AAA Top 5 Rankings Presented by CCM for the 2014-15 regular season. These rankings will be released on a bi-weekly schedule. Continuing their into the month of January, the York Simcoe Express have jumped into the first overall position. Unbeaten in their last twelve, the Express are proving why they belong at the top. Clawing at the heels of York Simcoe are the boys from the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs. Ending December on a hot streak the Jr. Bulldogs hit a slight bump in the road in a hard fought defeat against Oakville to start off January. Look for them to regain their form as the season nears completion. Rounding out the top five spots are the Barrie Colts, the Southern Tier Admirals and the Clarington Toros.

Hunter Holmes – Niagara North Stars – Holmes is an excellent possession forward who can create time and space with deceptive skating, elite stick-handling, and the ability to shield contact with his body. His offensive zone vision is very advanced and he shows a consistent ability to make plays that few of his peers are capable of making.

Mason Ash – Southern Tier Admirals – Mason is a high-energy, high-effort player. He’s big, strong and mobile but also has the ability to show soft hands in tight. He forechecks hard with consistency. 

Matt Mckim – York Simcoe Express – Matt is blessed with exceptional hands amd vision and is a high end point producer for his team.  Matt can not only finish around the net but also has high end playmaking ability. Simply put, McKim just makes the teammates around him better.  As much as Matt has high end skill, he also competes very hard and never backs down from any situation.
