Marketing material, equipment packages included

Hockey Canada is looking for local minor hockey associations to execute several ‘Try Hockey / Grow the Game’ pilot programs across the country for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons.

This is a great opportunity for your association to be creative and to deliver an innovative program introducing hockey to young children in your community. An emphasis will be made on pilots focused on opportunities for girls, equity deserving groups, new Canadians and Indigenous communities.

The selected associations will receive the following support from Hockey Canada:

  • Marketing material to promote their program
  •  Online HCR registration link
  • Equipment package for participants
  • Hockey Canada practice jersey and socks
  • Ice rental subsidy
  • Skate sharpening subsidy
  • Honorarium for support staff
  • Insurance coverage

The are three timeframes for running the pilots in your community:

  • Winter 2024: Between January 15, 2024, and April 15, 2024
  • Fall 2024: Between August 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024
  • Winter 2025: Between January 1, 2025, and April 1, 2025

The pilot projects will provide best practices to benefit other associations and federations across the globe. The objectives include flexible and innovate programming that is outside of regular minor hockey offerings, and provide opportunities to connect with the local community.

Applications close December 6th.
