The Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) and GameSheet INC. (GSI) are proud to announce the iPad Assist Program, which will assist all local minor hockey associations score their games on the GameSheet platform over the 2023-24 hockey season.

The OMHA has a responsibility to provide a safe and fun game environment and this includes the effective monitoring of discipline, player safety, and game knowledge. Having all games scored digitally offers valuable information, trends, and in-depth analysis of the occurrences at all OMHA games, providing a comprehensive understanding of the actual happenings and emerging patterns. It will also provide the opportunity to address teachable moments and areas of emphasis for Players, Team Officials and Game Officials and the game overall.

Concerns regarding up front finances for iPads were heard at the OMHA Annual General Meeting. In an effort to address these specific concerns of cost and accessibility, the iPad Assist Program was created. This program supports associations as they deliver programming and will break down the initial costs of hardware needed for the digital game sheet software. For every 10 teams registered in the House League and Local League categories within an Association, the Program will supply 1 iPad free of charge, with a minimum of one (1) iPad supplied to each Association.

“GameSheet has proven to be a reliable, easy to use platform for our leagues and associations,” said OMHA Executive Director Ian Taylor. “It also allows the OMHA to use data from our games to make informed decisions moving forward. The iPad Assist program is another way we can support our local associations in delivering programming this season.”

“We listened to the hardware concerns brought up at the AGM regarding OMHA’s initiative to score every game with GameSheet’s comprehensive league management system and together came up with a solution that removes this hurdle,” said Mike Kensit, GameSheet Inc.

The program is part a three-year extension of their partnership through the 2025-26 season. GameSheet will continue to be the exclusive vendor of choice for digital score sheets within the organization.
