Enjoying your child's hockey journey

The Ontario Minor Hockey Association is proud to deliver the Winter edition of Hometown Hockey Magazine in a digital version. The magazine is now available on OMHA.net.

It’s easy to blink and realize that your child’s hockey journey is going by a lot faster than expected. Take the time to step back and enjoy all of the great experiences they are going through and the skills they are learning every time they go to the rink. These are the memories that can last a lifetime.

When the weather gets cold it can be tougher to be outside to soak up the sun. Which foods can provide the most Vitamin D in the winter? Not only is it an important nutrient but it also assists in bone health, muscle recovery and overall immunity.

Hockey is a great sport to teach life skills like respect and hard work. Gord Stellick, the former General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, looks at the sportsmanship and off-ice skills necessary for players to take their games to the next level.

Other sections include a preview of the upcoming World Juniors tournament as well as catching up with Oakville Rangers grad and Philadelphia Flyers netminder Steve Mason on the impact minor hockey had on him.
