Players to Watch

Joshua Houston (Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs) - This skilled pivot just puts up points game after game. Houston is one of the most consistent players in the Minor Midget age group. He is loaded with a vast skill set and vision and he's difficult to keep off the scoresheet.

Daniel Panetta (Quinte Red Devils) - He's a high energy forward that rarely takes a night off. When you watch Panetta, his feet are always moving and trying to create offensive opportunities for his linemates. Panetta has had a great start to the season and leads his team into this weekend's tournament. He's always fun to watch.

Midget AAA Rankings

RANK TEAM PREVIOUS RANK WEEKS RANKED
1 Markham Waxers (13-2-1) 1 5
2 Oakville Rangers (17-0-1) 3 5
3 Central Ontario Wolves (12-3-3) 2 5
4 Clarington Toros (13-3-2) 4 6
5 Ajax-Pickering Raiders (9-3-2) 5 2

Players to Watch

Nate Bolger (Guelph Gryphons) - Bolger is a strong skating defenceman who excels in the offensive half of the ice. With great vision and an excellent first pass, Bolger makes the game look very easy on the blue line for the Gryphons. The play-making defenceman is often involved in the offensive rush, quarterbacking the power play and getting pucks on net through traffic from the blue line. Although Bolger is very offensive, he does not sacrifice his defensive game for offensive opportunities. Bolger is leading a defensive Gryphons team who are near the top of the SCTA in goals against.

Nate Boomhower (Quinte Red Devils) - The Red Devils forward is off to a hot start in the ETA and has set the pace for the Quinte offence. Boomhower has a noticeable presence every time he is in the offensive zone and can usually be found in front of the opposition’s goal where he uses his size and instinct to contribute. The Red Devils are looking for some consistency in their team play around the midpoint of their season, and if they are going to find it Boomhower is going to be a large part of that and continue to lead the charge offensively.
