The Ontario Minor Hockey Association is excited to announce the guest speaker at the upcoming Dinner and Awards celebration at the Annual General Meeting.
Tyler McGregor's career in Paralympic sport began as a result of a bone cancer diagnosis as a teenager that forced the amputation of his left leg above the knee, altering his lifelong dreams of playing professional hockey. Despite these challenges, Tyler’s unwavering belief and determination helped him adapt, overcome, and continue to pursue excellence within the sport he’s always loved.
This led him to the sport of Para Hockey (formerly Sledge Hockey), where he has competed internationally since 2012, where he is now a 3-time World Champion and 3-time Paralympic medalist.
Away from the rink, Tyler has also raised over $130,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation through his ‘Sledge Skate of Hope’ since 2021, a member of the National Board of Directors for Make-A-Wish Canada, the Canadian Paralympic Athletes Council, and Own The Podium Athlete Advisory Committee.
The Dinner & Awards Celebration will be hosted by Dan Pollard. A veteran of over thirty years on radio, Pollard previously worked with TSN, CBC and Sportsnet and can now be heard on 105.5 Hits FM. He also serves as General Manager of the station.
Other highlights include the honouring of OMHA Award winners and Bursary recipients as well as the Respect in Sport Essay Contest finalists.
