Building on existing collaboration

The Ontario Minor Hockey Association and The Coaches Site, hockey’s leading educational resource for coaches and associations, have extended their partnership to further improve coaching development across the world’s largest minor hockey association.

Building on an existing 7-year partnership, the collaboration will provide select OMHA coaches access to The Coaches Site and its abundance of resources as well as share premium coaching content to the entire OMHA membership.

The Coaches Site will continue to be the presenting sponsor of the OMHA’s Coach of the Month program, which puts the spotlight on a dedicated minor hockey coach and how they approach their practice planning, team building and the game of hockey.

The Coaches Site offers a unique community of like-minded coaches that are focused on sharing innovative tools and resources to help build better programs, enhance player development and strengthen team culture. The platform has become the leading resource for hockey’s top coaches and leaders to share their insights and experience and is a trusted development platform for coaches and associations across the OMHA.

“As a longstanding partner of the OMHA, we’re proud to continue working with their staff in providing resources that support coaches becoming great leaders,” says Aaron Wilbur, Founder and CEO of The Coaches Site. “Building on our initiatives like the Coach of the Month and sharing content with the OMHA membership, we look forward to celebrating the passion for the game and further supporting the education of their coaches, and ultimately the development of their players.”

OMHA coaches will also receive exclusive discounts to attend The Coaches Site’s annual conference, TCS Live, taking place at the University of Michigan. The event features keynote and on-ice presentations from some of the game’s top coaches and performance leaders, and hosts networking events for attendees to connect with coaches from around the world. The three-day conference will also provide all participating coaches with six maintenance points towards their Hockey Canada certification.

“As leaders in community sport, the OMHA looks to align ourselves with leaders and subject-matter experts in all areas. The Coaches Site provides our coaches with access to the latest information and resources in order to build the toolboxes of our coaches,” says Ian Taylor, OMHA Executive Director. “As well, our Coach of the Month program presented by The Coaches Site showcases the great leaders we have in our communities across the province.”

Founded in 2011, The Coaches Site is the premiere educational resource for hockey coaches, serving a global audience.
