Playdowns are happening all across the OMHA and every bracket is close to the Quarterfinals stage if they haven’t reached it already. It’s been another great year of Playdowns hockey where already anything has proven to be possible. There are plenty of OMHA teams to keep an eye on these are just some of our OMHA Playdowns Teams to Watch, presented by Egg Farmers of Ontario.

Novice West BB – Caledonia Thunder
The Thunder went back and forth with Tillsonburg all season long and now the two meet again during the quarterfinals. They are both evenly matched on the offensive end and only a few points separated them in the standings this year. The two already swapped victories in the preliminary round and both are battle-tested against each other. Whichever team can find the edge could end up pulling out the victory.

Peewee CC – Brighton Braves
The Braves found their offensive touch as the season progressed and haven’t slowed down. They have shown the ability to hang in offensively with any opponent they are up against and can’t be taken lightly. Brighton keeps games close no matter the end result which means they play hard until the final whistle. Opponents shouldn’t take them lightly.

Bantam CC – Goderich Sailors
Coming off of a back and forth preliminary series, the Sailors advanced with a statement shutout victory. Goderich tightened up their defensive effort over their last handful of games and they carry momentum into the quarterfinals, an important intangible to have this time of year. The preliminaries served as a good test for what lies ahead for the Sailors.

Juvenile C-DD – South Bruce Blades
The Blades got off to a quick start, winning their first two preliminary games before dropping the next pair. They advanced on a final victory but they know they can’t make a habit of letting their opponents back into series when they have the lead. Next up for South Bruce is a matchup against the Drayton Defenders, a team on their level after finishing tied in the regular season standings.
