Get ahead of the game this summer and don’t leave your coaching qualification until the last minute! Make sure you have completed the proper courses before signing up for a clinic.
Coaches can use clinics to improve their skillsets and learn new techniques while getting their qualification which makes them eligible to lead their team behind the bench. Step onto the ice and help your players have fun playing the sport we love.
Coach 1 or Coach 2 in-person clinics are typically one-day courses offered on weekends. It is comprised of four hours of in-class learning and a two hour on-ice session. They are taught by coach instructors with years of hockey experience.
You must complete your Hockey University *HU - ONLINE Coach 1 / 2 component before being eligible for a Coach 1 or Coach 2 in-person clinic. Hockey University is a four hour online course that must be completed before you can register for these in-person clinics. A link to the Hockey University online component will be provided once registration for it is complete. This course is a new, interactive online platform that will form part of a blended learning approach for entry-level clinics for Coach education.
In the program, coaches will learn about player development and using basic technical skills to grow their games. Using Hockey Canada resources to plan on and off-ice activities, coaches will be trained on how to be an effective communicator. Age-appropriate and fun practice drills will also be taught.

Build age-appropriate and competition specific practice plans while you give your players a solid understanding of the skills and strategies they will need to compete.
