This is it. These are the biggest games of the year. With teams now in Playdowns finals, lucky teams from across the OMHA will battle on the ice for the shot at earning themselves #RedHats and being crowned champions.

The action on the ice couldn’t get more exciting than this. The rinks are packed and the fans are cheering in support of their teams. Here are some of the teams to keep an eye on as the CCM Teams to Watch in Playdowns Finals.

Atom AE 1 – Whitby Wildcats

The Wildcats haven’t been shy about showing their offensive firepower throughout Playdowns. Scoring certainly won’t be an issue in this matchup which provides a treat for fans and players alike. Look for Whitby to come out strong out of the gate and try to set the tone early to get themselves one step ahead of their opponent.

Minor Peewee A – Riverside Rangers

Coming off the thrill of a winner take all game puts the Rangers exactly where they want to be – playing for #RedHats. Riverside has shown it can quickly bounce back after a loss and are coming off a tough back and forth series in the semis. A resounding 5-0 clinching victory is a great way for the Rangers to get the ball rolling heading into the finals.

Bantam C – West Grey Warriors

After squeaking out wins in the first two rounds of Playdowns, the Warriors seem to have found their groove and clicked through the semi-finals. Sometimes all a team needs is a little adversity at the start of their journey for smooth sailing afterwards. They’ve shown they learned their lessons from being up against tough competition.

Midget C – Delhi Rockets

This team has proven they won’t give up in any series and will battle until the final whistle. They’ve been tested a lot through Playdowns already and it has built them into a group that can come through and win the games that mean the most. The Rockets can put teams in a defensive hold at times while staying ahead of them just enough to get the win.

Juvenile AAA-AA – Ennismore Eagles

The Eagles seem to be a stalwart when it comes to their presence in the Juvenile AAA-AA Playdowns finals. They didn’t have much trouble in the round robin and look to continue riding that momentum into the next few games. They are a strong defensive group and teams are lucky to score against them. Ennismore will look to ‘fill the barn’ as it continues their push for #RedHats.
