The University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds topped the Saskatchewan Huskies 5-3 in the championship game to take home the University Cup, the top trophy in U SPORTS men’s hockey. The tournament weekend featured eight teams from across the country earning their way into the title game.
The OMHA would like to congratulate all of our grads who participated in the University Cup on a great season. Six of the eight teams had at least one grad on their roster with the champion Varsity Reds featuring Randy Gazzola (Welland Tigers), Rob Mignardi (Richmond Hill Stars) and Marcus McIvor (Whitby Wildcats).
We are proud of our graduates for pursuing post-secondary educations while continuing to play the sport they love.
