The Hockey Canada Skills Combine program will be hosted on May 23-24 and will allow young players to gauge their skills in a fun and challenging environment.
This interactive two day skill testing program features on and off-ice testing and provides each individual player with quantitative data to assess the areas of strengths and areas of focus. There will be key hockey personnel as guest speakers such as professional coaches, players, athletic therapists, trainers or nutritionists.
Players will be tested using Hockey Canada’s National Skills Testing and Standards program. These tests include: 100’ Dash Forwards/Backwards, Agility Weave, and Agility Transition skate. These tests can be done throughout the season to measure player’s improvements over time.
For the off-ice tests, Hockey Canada will offer a comprehensive program focused on speed, power and endurance. This series of tests have been designed to test hockey players on specific athletic hockey movements. Hockey Canada has used this testing at our national junior team summer camp to help with the identification of players for Team Canada.
