The Ontario Minor Hockey Association, in partnership with Headversity, is excited to announce the topic for the 2025-2026 OMHA Essay Contest. 

All OMHA players are encouraged to enter the contest by completing a written essay with the topic: “Hockey Teaches Me...”

Follow these three simple steps for your chance at $1000 in Hockey Gear from Team Town Sports!

1. Write an essay that follows the theme of "Hockey Teaches Me...”

2. The essay is no longer than 250 words.

Whether its being part of a team, making new friends, feeling that cold air on your face as you skate down the ice or building life skills, such as hard work, dedication, perseverance, we want to hear from YOU!

The 12th annual OMHA Essay Contest presented by Headversity is designed for players to be engaged in an educational manner while encouraging them to express their thoughts on why they truly love the sport of hockey!

The top five essays will be selected by a committee based on the creativity demonstrated in their submission. All finalists will be awarded an OMHA prize pack while the grand prize winner will receive a $1,000 worth of Hockey Gear. Submissions will be accepted until January 4, 2026.
