U16 and U18 AAA Top 5 Rankings presented by Hudl

The Ontario Minor Hockey Association has released the second edition of the U16 and U18 AAA Top 5 Rankings presented by Hudl for the 2024-2025 regular season.

U16 AAA Rankings

A handful of teams are off to hot starts, which means the Rankings could see plenty of movement throughout the season. As teams prepare of the U16 AAA Showcase this weekend, it will be a good measuring stick against tough competition.

Players to Watch

Ryerson Edgar (York-Simcoe Express): A very smart player who is always around the puck. Able to put himself in good areas to receive pucks and he also times his routes well so he gets a lot of pucks in stride. From here, Edgar allows his skill to take over as he can weave through the neutral zone and get numerous zone entries with speed. Inside the offensive zone, he doesn't rush pucks off his stick, but shows off excellent poise that draws defenders out of position so he can find his open teammates. He will play a lot of big minutes for York-Simcoe this year.

Marcus Magri (Oakville Rangers): A dangerous player that can create a lot of scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates. Has a solid frame, allowing him to play with defenders on his back showing off his puck protection skills and his poise. If no options are available, Magri can use his speed to drive the puck to the net where he can show off his hands in tight areas. Along with his ability to create, he also has a good shot and release, that if given time, he can make goalies pay.

U18 AAA Rankings

It will be a back and forth battle all season long with a number of strong teams set to jockey for position.

Players to Watch

Cody Wood (Ajax-Pickering Raiders): An offensive defender who plays with pace and quickness. Wood manages the puck well and gets it up ice quickly. Projects as a power play, offensive minded quarterback who manages the puck well at the OHL level.

Ulysses Lombardi (Markham Waxers): Plays with an edge, good sense and skill around the net. Lombardi is a player with plenty of upside and is an important member of a strong Waxers team.
