We all know how important the role of Coach is in our communities. Coaches are responsible for using sport to teach children about hard work, teamwork, dedication and a variety of other valuable life lessons. By helping the sport of hockey create the leaders of tomorrow, coaches deserve to be recognized for the countless hours they spend volunteering at the rink.
We were thrilled with the amount of nominations we received last season for the Coach of the Month award presented by The Coaches Site. The program, now in its eighth year, highlights the impact that coaches have on and off the ice on their players.
Using the form below, we want to hear about coaches who go above and beyond for their players. Criteria for the award will include coaches that instill a positive culture within their respective programs, preach and teach life skills to their players and assist in providing a love for the game and making it a sport their players can’t live without.
A winner will be chosen through every month of the hockey season and receive a coaching prize pack from The Coaches Site and a profile feature on the OMHA website.
The Coaches Site aims to connect the coaching community across the province with the latest ideas and resources. With dedicated coaches who commit countless volunteer hours out of passion for hockey, The Coaches Site wants to ensure they have the best experience possible for both coaches and players.
Members of The Coaches Site have access to over 500 hours of educational video including presentations featuring some of the top names in our game such as Pete Deboer, Derek Lalonde, Tim Turk, Kori Cheverie, and Glen Gulutzan.
