'Respect in Sport – Officials Course' Now Available for Game Officials

Online training tool designed specifically for Game Officials

The Respect in Sport – Officials program is the foundational, on-line training tool for Canadian Safe Sport, designed specifically for sport officials including, but not limited to: referees, umpires, judges, linesmen and lineswomen, commissaires, technical officials, starters, data specialists, timekeepers, scorekeepers, etc.

  • This program is mandatory for new Officials.
  • If you already have the Activity Leader program, you do not need to complete this course. However, you are welcome to do so.
  • This qualification currently has no expiry date once completed.
  • To check your status, go to your HCR/Spordle account.

WHY RESPECT IN SPORT FOR OFFICIALS?
 

The one-hour online program helps officials understand their legal and moral duty of care while providing the necessary tools to create a rewarding, safe, and respectful sport environment. Officials want to succeed at enforcing the rules with neutrality, while maintaining the standards of fair and safe play.

Using relevant "real-world" scenarios, engaging interactivity, and a versatile learning platform, Respect in Sport provides officials with the tools to protect the integrity of their sport and those who participate in it.

PROGRAM ACCESS INSTRUCTIONS
 

  • If you have an existing Officials Program certificate, select "Already Certified?" and follow the prompts.
  • If you have an existing profile in any other Respect Group program, select "New to this Program?" then "Look-Up".
  • If this is your first time registering for a Respect Group Program, select "New to this Program?" followed by "Register".
  • Complete registration.
  • Select "Submit" at the bottom of the page. You will be requested to review and accept the Privacy policy.
  • On the payment page, click "Pay Now", or Enter a Pre-Registration Code if you have been provided one by your organization.
  • Once successfully logged in, you will default to the Home page. Select "Program Access" to view the modules.
  • To re-access the program, return to the same URL indicated above and enter the username and password created during registration.

The program has already been used by many sports organizations across the country.
