Through all of the ups and downs of the season we’ve finally reached the mark of the year that we’ve been working so hard to achieve. Teams are currently playing in Qualifiers to advance in their stages to eventually punch their ticket to the OMHA Championships presented by Egg Farmers of Ontario. With the ultimate prize of #RedHats at the end of the line, keep an eye on these teams over the coming weeks.

Tri-County League - U13 Smith: Owen Sound Jr. Attack
This group looks like a completely different team from the ones that were playing in the regular season. They are firing on all cylinders and have captured the offensive spark just at the right time. As they get through the teams in their path, the Jr. Attack have shown they can win the close games or make themselves a bit more comfortable with a larger lead.

Georgian Bay MHL - U15 Tier 3: South Grey Spartans
With a handful of regular season games’ experience against the teams in their pool, the Spartans have learned a few tricks and are putting up a fight during pool play. Keeping games low scoring has been proven to work in their favour. As they continue to look to earn their spot in the next round of Qualifiers, they will need to stay disciplined and out of the penalty box in their upcoming games.

Shamrock League - U18 Tier 1: Lambeth Lancers
The Lancers have shown they can win the close games which is an intangible skill for a team at this time of the season. They’ve put themselves in a position to advance to the next round and will need to keep a level head as they play out their remaining schedule. Lambeth hasn’t let an opportunity go to waste to earn points in the standings.

York Simcoe League - U11 AA: Barrie Jr. Colts
The Jr. Colts don’t back down from anybody and will prove to be a tough out the longer they remain active in Qualifiers. This is a strong defensive group and don’t allow many goals, so any team that gets on the scoresheet will need to bring their attack from whistle to whistle. While their Qualifiers map is still to be written, they’ve done enough this season to show what they’re made of.
