Communication is key between forwards and defencemen

Description

  • F1 begins by corner driving to the net for a shot while F2 passes to D1 and follows the play to the net
  • D1 sprints / or drags puck to middle for shot on net with Forwards screening and looking for a tip. After the shot D2 retreats back to pick up a second spotted puck
  • Forwards leave the zone to get a pass from D2 and then go back in 2 vs 1 against D1. F1 should open pivot to the wall creating a secondary pass option for D2. D2 follows up for a second shot

Key Points

  • Make sure players communicate. D must shoulder check, retrieve puck with speed and follow forwards to enter zone with speed.
