Playdowns are happening all across the OMHA and every bracket is close to the Quarterfinals stage if they haven’t reached it already. It’s been another great year of Playdowns hockey where already anything has proven to be possible. There are plenty of OMHA teams to keep an eye on these are just some of our OMHA Playdowns Teams to Watch, presented by Egg Farmers of Ontario.

Remember to share your team’s Playdowns experience by tagging #RedHats and @HometownHockey and @GetCracking.

Atom AE4-5 – Ilderton Jets: The Jets emerged from a back and forth gauntlet with South Kent in the preliminaries and advanced on a game five victory. They upset a higher seed and are a prime example of how no team is ever off the Road to #RedHats until the final whistle sounds. They now head into a matchup with the East Lambton Eagles who they split the season series with. The Jets can benefit from being battle-tested already.

Peewee B – Petrolia Oilers: Teams will need to give it their all on both ends of the ice to stop the Oilers. With a strong offensive attack Petrolia has hardly found themselves lacking in the goal department in Playdowns so far. They look to be able to keep pace with any team offensively and can quickly jump out to a lead if their opponent’s aren’t careful.

Bantam AA – Caledon Hawks: The Hawks caught fire at the right moment to advance from their group’s round robin stage. They’ve shown they are no fluke in winning the one-goal games, a crucial skill to have at this time of year. Caledon doesn’t give itself a large margin for error which means they need to play a focused, disciplined game as the look to continue advancing.

Midget C – Delhi Rockets: The Rockets are firing on all cylinders right now on both the offensive and defensive end. They held their opponents to just a goal a game in the preliminaries which is a major ingredient in finding their spot in this round. On top of that their offensive success made it easier to focus on stopping the other team’s attack by having a cushion on the scoreboard.
