The Ontario Minor Hockey Association has released the fifth edition of the Minor Midget and Midget AAA Top 5 Rankings powered by Under Armour for the 2019-2020 regular season. These rankings will be released on a bi-weekly schedule.

It's almost time for the OMHA AAA Showcase powered by Under Armour! There are new teams making their debuts in the Top 5 showing that this season will come down to the wire.

Minor Midget AAA Rankings

Two new teams make their debut and are ready to keep climbing up the ladder. A big win by the Coyotes over the top-ranked Red Devils was enough to put them in the Top 5 while a nine-game undefeated streak boosts the North Stars ahead.

Players to Watch

Dalyn Wakely (Quinte Red Devils) - Keeps other teams on his toes because he is very dynamic and has a great skillset. Wakely is blessed with very quick hands and elite vision. Off the rush, he can attack north/south or east/west as he has great puck control at top speed and can make quick cuts into open ice. Wakely is strong when he lacks time and space as he can rely on knowing where his teammates are and his confidence in his stickhandling and vision to open up something out of nothing. A high-end offensive player in this year's draft.

Adrian Rebelo (Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs) - Possesses a good combination of speed and skill which opens up a lot of options in the offensive zone. He has a quick first three steps that allows him to get into top speed quickly. Rebelo can really attack defenders wide and take pucks to the net as he doesn't lose any of speed when he carries the puck. He excels when he has the puck on his stick as he moves his feet in attempts to find offensive opportunities for himself or his teammates. There is room to grow with Rebelo to become a three-zone player but he has a lot of tools putting him on a path to excel.

Midget AAA Rankings

Teams seem to be settling into position as this is the first edition of the Midget AAA rankings that see no movement. They will need to keep up their high standard of play if they want to remain in the Top 5.

Players to Watch

Aiden Yarde (Grey Bruce Highlanders) - Yarde has the frame and skillset to play at the next level. The Highlanders leading scorer through the first half of the season is tough to contain down low, can attack through the neutral zone with speed, and isn’t shy to get involved in the game physically. He has the ability to make skilled plays at high speeds, and can bring a great net front presence on the power play. When he is on his game, he can be extremely difficult to contain.

Blake Yetman (Whitby Wildcats) - There's no doubt that Yetman possesses vision that not many others have. He is a pass-first player that causes opponents to collect minuses when they are on the ice against him. His ability to create space for himself by protecting the puck allows his teammates to find open areas of the offensive zone where he can get them the puck. Distributing the puck to open teammates in all areas of the ice has put him in the conversation as one of the best passers in the Midget AAA loop.
