OMHA partners with Dairy Farmers of Ontario

Partnership includes jersey patches, post-secondary educational bursaries

Mississauga, Ontario (August 1, 2019) – The Ontario Minor Hockey Association is proud to announce a partnership with the Dairy Farmers of Ontario (DFO), a supporter of community based sport.

As part of the partnership, all Representative players will wear a co-branded patch - including both the OMHA and Recharge with Milk crests - on their jerseys. The patch will be will be supplied to each association at no cost before the start of the upcoming 2019-20 season. The patch will be placed on one of the following locations and will adhere to OHF Regulations A10 around placement of the Canadian Flag - see attached imaging for examples:

  • on upper left chest when the Canadian flag is on upper right chest
  • on upper left chest when Canadian flag is on upper left sleeve
  • on upper right chest when Canadian flag is on upper left sleeve

In addition to the jersey patches, the Dairy Farmers of Ontario have invested $40,000 towards post-secondary educational bursaries for players participating in OMHA programming throughout the province.

“Recharge with Milk aims to support young athletes in building the strong nutritional foundation they need by drinking milk,” said Murray Sherk, DFO’s chair. “We’re excited to partner with OMHA to help shape the next generation of leaders—both on the ice and in their communities.”

“Hockey plays an important role in building lifelong relationships, character, self-esteem and good citizens,” said OMHA Executive Director Ian Taylor. “We are excited to partner with the Dairy Farmers of Ontario who share our beliefs and are committed to building stronger, healthier communities. Our goal is to deliver the sport to as many players as possible, for as long as possible, in the best environment possible and this partnership can help us grow in that regard.”
