Check and see if your CRC or VSC are up to date

The OMHA HCOP Membership Committee is actively preparing for the 2019-20 season and want to make sure that all Officials are ready to hit the ice come puck drop. The off-season is the perfect time to ensure that you are up to date and ready once the first whistle sounds. Officials perform a vital role in the game and without whom hockey would not happen.

ALL Officials Level 1 - 6 will be required to complete Online Modules, which include the National Exam.

Eligibility for the 2019-2020 season requires the completion of your Online Modules/Exam before September 30, 2019 and is required prior to your attendance at a mandatory In-Person Clinic (Level 1 and 2 Officials only).

Access to the program will only be granted to those officials who have a current valid Vulnerable Sector Screening Check (VSS) on file in the Hockey Canada Registry (HCR). Check your profile in the HCR to ensure that a current VSS is on file.

In your HCR profile, you will find status, including expiry date in the ‘CRC’ tab. If your expiration date is prior to the 2019-20 season, you must obtain and submit a new Vulnerable Sector Screening Check to the OHF before you will be allowed access to the program.

  • On-Ice Officials aged 17 and under are Not required to provide a Criminal Record Check, UNLESS applying for a position with a government agency (federal, provincial or municipal).
  • On-Ice Officials aged 18 years and over must provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening Check.
  • When requesting the VSS, you may be required to provide a letter to your local police service. Receipts are acceptable as suitable for submission, if you have initiated the process of obtaining the VSS.
  • If your HCR profile indicates your VSS expiry beyond the 2019-20 season, you must complete in full, sign and submit the Criminal Offence Declaration Form to the OHF Office.

Please ensure submission of your VSS or Criminal Offence Declaration Form through one of the following methods. Forms can be scanned and emailed, faxed or mailed:

Mail/courier:
Ontario Hockey Federation
ATTENTION: Criminal Record Check Inspector
400 Sheldon Drive, Unit 9
Cambridge, ON N1T 2H9

Fax:
Attention: Criminal Record Check Inspector
519-620-7476

If submitting via fax or scan (PDF) and it is not deemed a true copy, submission of the original by mail will be requested (no pictures will be accepted).

Please contact the OMHA or OHF office if you have any questions on this process.
