The end of the regular season is just around the corner and teams are looking to finish strong. Here is the tenth and final edition of the OMHA Minor Midget and Midget AAA Rankings powered by Under Armour.

Minor Midget AAA Rankings

The Rangers picked up two quality wins to hold on to the top spot. The Express picked up a big victory over the Colts but it wasn't enough to hold on to the third spot, which is now occupied by the North Stars, who won three games and tied another. Peterborough rounds out the top five and continue to finish the season strong.

Players to Watch

Ethan Cardwell (Clarington Toros) -  Cardwell plays with a consistent effort and he gets rewarded by getting a lot of turnovers. He has a low centre of gravity and a quick powerful stride. This allows him to be strong on his feet and get on top of defencemen quickly. Cardwell turns over pucks and transitions very well into offence. With the puck, his head is up and looks to attack. Quick feet and good edges make room in the offensive zone where he likes to use his release or find teammates. He is a consistent threat and can be relied upon to score some big goals.

Dalton McBride (Niagara North Stars) - A goalie that has the size for very good net coverage, but shows that he can also be athletic with quick reactions saves. He usually controls the play well with consistent rebound control by directing pucks out of harms way or smothering them in his pads. If a puck does kick out for another chance, his quick feet allow him to scramble well and get into position for a save. McBride is a goalie with a lot of upside and shows this in big games.

A strong two weeks by the Raiders combined with some struggles by other teams vaults them into the top spot. Both the Rangers and North Stars failed to post a victory since the last edition of the rankings but hold steady enough to keep their high spots. The Wildcats emerge after a pair of wins, including tying their highest scoring output of the year.

Players to Watch

Charles Jeans (North Central Predators) - Jeans picked up after the holiday break where he left off, leading the way with some impressive early January wins for a North Central team desperate to not only get into the playoffs but make an impact and a potential OMHA championship berth. Jeans contributes to his team’s offensive success, and makes sure to chip in but where he is most impactful is late in games protecting a lead. He finds himself making impactful plays with and without the puck while doing whatever he can to help the team win. Jeans has no problem pinning the puck against the boards while taking a hit, or blocking a shot to secure a Predators victory.

Patrick Klazer (Burlington Eagles) - Klazer is the first person you notice when watching the Eagles play, and for good reason. The 6’ plus defenceman is an effortless skater and seems to have the puck follow him around. What makes Klazer effective is his first pass out of the zone; which connects to his target every time. While Klazer is a smooth and efficient skater, he also knows when to turn it on and make sure that he can escape defenders with the puck. There is also a strong offensive side to his game, which has helped Klazer to be one of the more rounded players within the league.
