Teams are entering the final stretch of the regular season before Playdowns. Here is the ninth edition of the OMHA Minor Midget and Midget AAA Rankings powered by Under Armour.

Minor Midget AAA Rankings

The Rangers continue to roll, picking up a big win over the North Stars to increase their lead in the standings. The Petes picked up a quality win against the Colts and look to continue building on that momentum to climb up the rankings. Winners of three in a row, the Express seem to have found their offensive touch once again.

Players to Watch

Spencer Smith (Niagara North Stars) - Smith was sidelined early in the year with an injury but has come back and hasn't missed a beat. He is a very responsible player who doesn't cheat on the ice and will give you everything he has. Smith loves having the puck on his stick and when he doesn't he will do everything to get it back. With the puck he is lethal, as his shot is very quick and accurate. He possess strong offensive instincts that allow him to be creative to find teammates or a shooting lane. He is a physical player and is fun to watch.

Isaac Langdon (Quinte Red Devils) - Langdon can take over a game with his skill and skating. He likes to beat defencemen off the rush and can usually get a step around them. What makes him dangerous is that he can get his shot off without much separation and in full stride. Without the puck, he has a good hockey IQ allowing him to find loose pucks and he has great hands in tight where he can score. Langdon is also an underrated passer as he can find open seams and make skilled passes to his teammates.

Midget AAA Rankings

The Rangers hold on to the top spot after another strong few weeks. After a strong six game stretch that included five wins, the surging Raiders find themselves in second place. The North Stars and Waxers keep pace while the Toros use back-to-back convincing wins to put them in the fifth spot of the rankings.

Players to Watch

Adam Harris (Oakville Rangers) - Harris has simply been a star for the Rangers thus far this season. While he may be undersized, Harris makes up for it with exceptional mobility and never gives up on a puck. The netminder has shown an ability to control rebounds from all angles, and bail his team out when called upon. Harris also has a calm demeanor in the crease and seems to set the tone for his teams play around him. While maintaining one of the top GAA’s in the league, Harris will need to continue his play heading into a strong and unpredictable playoff.

Luke O’Connor (Ajax-Pickering Raiders) - O’Connor is a strong power forward who gives the Raiders a physical edge in every game he plays. The Raiders have benefited from O’Connor’s work ethic and solid two-way play. He is often the first player in the forecheck and never misses an opportunity to finish his check on the opposition. O’Connor seems to be a spark plug for the Raiders success this season and will be depended on heading into the playoffs in a league that has been filled with parity all season.
