Players to Watch

Quinton Byfield (York-Simcoe Express) - Size, skating, hands... Byfield possess all the attributes that will make him a top forward this year. Byfield uses his size to his advantage by using his body and reach to protect the puck. This buys him time and space where his hands and vision take over. He knows where his teammates are and finds them consistently. His hockey IQ is high, especially in the offensive zone, as he puts himself in high percentage areas allowing him to show off his finishing ability.

Dawson McKinney (Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs) - A strong two-way forward that can play in all three zones. He likes to put pressure on opposing defencemen by taking smart routes to the puck. This allows him to create turnovers where his offensive skill can take over. Although he isn't too flashy, his puck handling skills are more than capable, buying him time to make a play. He is confident when skating with the puck and can attack the offensive zone with speed opening the ice for his linemates.

Players to Watch

Joshua Sinanan (Brampton 45's) - A forward that is noticed everytime he is on the ice. Sinanan excels in reading the play and knowing where the puck is going before anyone on the ice. His vision both with and without the puck make him very tough to defend.

Paul O'Doherty (Markham Waxers) - O'Doherty is a defenceman who is noticed every time he steps foot on the ice. He has a smooth first pass out of the zone and loves to join the rush and contribute to the Waxers offence. O'Doherty is a viable spark plug early to this year's Waxers team and will be relied upon throughout the year in order to reach a second consecutive OMHA Playdowns for the Midget AAA Waxers.
