2017 OHL Under-18 Priority Selection Recap

First ever OHL Midget Draft results

The inaugural OHL Under-18 Priority Selection draft wrapped up on Wednesday night for Midget-aged players to be selected by OHL teams.

The first player selected in this new draft format was Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs defenceman Victor Hadfield, who was chosen by the Barrie Colts. He was the first of six OMHA players selected in the first round.

The Ontario Minor Hockey Association led the way with 32 players from 16 teams, including the first overall pick in Hadfield. The Niagara North Stars and Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs both had 5 players selected while the OMHA Midget AAA Champion Oakville Rangers had two players drafted.
