Playdowns action has already begun across the OMHA

The road to the 2017 OMHA Playdowns Starts Now!

Preliminary groups have been set and many teams throughout the OMHA will face-off for a coveted bracket spot in the Playdowns.

The groups were selected by each league and the rules for how teams advance to the next round varies in each tournament. Quarterfinal spots are currently being determined by leagues for each age group. Keep checking OMHA.net for updated Playdowns brackets.

The Playdowns represent the end of the regular season and the beginning of the path to a championship. Everything that you learned throughout the year through practice, developing our skills and growing friendships and community will all be celebrated over the next few weeks.

Each team’s Playdowns journey will be different across the province but the drive and determination can be felt in every rink. Everyone wants to create memories that last a lifetime and earn a Red Hat given by CCM. Proudly displaying that to friends and family is something that reminds everyone of championship moments.

Be sure to cheer on your team and share their progress through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Stay connected and share your Playdowns photos by using the hashtag #RedHats. There will be 84 OMHA Champions crowned this season from Novice to Juvenile so plenty of action will be happening over the next few weeks.

This is the most important time of the year and a culmination of everything teams have worked towards all season. They didn’t come this far to go home empty handed. Red Hats help build a championship pedigree and stands out in a player’s career, no matter how far they go in hockey.
