The 2016 OMHA Annual General Meeting is just around the corner! The event takes place this Friday June 10 and finishes on Saturday afternoon.

Register to become a delegate at the AGM and sign up for Business of Hockey Leadership Seminars for OMHA Member Associations. Members from across the province meet to celebrate the accomplishments of the past hockey season and discuss ways to grow the game. The seminars feature a number of industry leaders hosting discussions on learning, best practices and how to better your association. These informative sessions will be interactive and the scheduling allows for interested members to attend more than one session.

During the Friday night dinner there will be awards presented to outstanding members of our hockey community. Stay and celebrate with the winners of the Honour, Excellence in Development, Wally Scott Bursary, Patricia Hartley Administrators and the George H. Carver Media Awards. There will also be guest speakers Ken Dryden and Serge Savard from 1972 Team Canada.

Following the Call to Order on Saturday morning, delegates from across the province will discuss the past year`s accomplishments, issues, initiatives and more. During these meetings, revisions to OMHA by-laws and regulations for the upcoming season will be addressed.

The annual Parade of Champions will take place Saturday morning after the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting. Teams who won #RedHats this season will be showcased in front of hundreds of OMHA members with their trophy and a banner to commemorate the victory. Toronto Marlies defenceman Travis Dermott (a York-Simcoe Express grad) will be on stage to congratulate each team. As a five-time OMHA Champion, he knows what the feeling of winning #RedHats is. Dermott is a five-time OMHA champion and was the Toronto Maple Leafs' second round pick last year and represented Canada at the World Juniors.

If you haven’t already purchased championship or finalist merchandise, you can still do so at the OMHA store.

There will also be the annual consumer show taking place over the two day period. Over 50 exhibitors from across the hockey world will be showcasing and selling their products and providing interactive booths. Admission is free and the show is open to the general public.

The 18th Annual OMHA Golf Tournament will take place on Friday morning at Wooden Sticks Golf Club. The course has brought together some of the most recognizable golf landscapes from the PGA and sculpted them into the spectacular scenery of the local area to produce 18 remarkable holes. All proceeds from the tournament go towards the Minor Hockey Foundation of Ontario. Since the inaugural event, there has been over $70,000 raised to help support minor hockey in Ontario.
