Three OMHA teams win gold at championships

The Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) Minor Hockey Championships are a three day event that produces OHF Champions at the Atom (A/AA/AAA), PeeWee (A/AA/AAA), Bantam (A/AA/AAA), Midget (A/AA/AAA), and Juvenile divisions.

The OHF Championships take place at the conclusion of every hockey season during the weekend on the second Saturday of April and feature five teams in each age classification. The teams come from across the province’s minor hockey associations.

This year saw three OMHA teams leave the championships with a gold medal: Riverside Rangers (Atom A), Grimsby Kings (Bantam A) and the Barrie Jr. Colts (Bantam AA).

“To the players, no matter what the outcome was on the weekend, you should be proud of the success you had this season as league champions, which is no small feat," said Tony Foresi, OHF President. " Spend time reflecting on the time you spent with your teammates this year, as these will be some of the best memories of your life.”

The OMHA would like to acknowledge the Host Committees of Essex (Atom A) and Brampton (Midget AA) for putting on an experience those participants will remember for a lifetime.
