Players to Watch

Nine points in his last four games should say enough about Vucko but the fact is he, like a lot of his teammates, is flying high at the moment. He has a knack for the net and a wicked release. Vucko always seems too able to find the soft areas around the net where defenders haven’t been able to locate him. No question about it, Vucko has been on the top players in the ETA over the last month.

Sheppard always seems to have the ability to make the key save at the right time. With four wins in his last five games, Sheppard has really found his game. His Jr. Bulldogs are tough to beat on any given night but when he’s between the pipes and shuts the door like he has all season, he makes the boys from Hamilton a favourite to capture an OMHA Championship.

Players to Watch

Brandon Waterhouse – Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs

Waterhouse is a big, physical, offensive forward.  He has the rare combination of size and skill that most teams look. Waterhouse is a natural goal scorer with a unique skill to score from anywhere in the offensive zone and score big goals for his team late in games.  He is a major reason for the recent streak the Jr. Bulldogs are on as they look to continue their hot streak into the holiday break.

Kole Scott - North Central Predators

Scott has tremendous speed. He is a big body that uses his size to his advantage. He is an extremely hard working skilled forward who creates a lot of chances for his team.

Darcy Redwood – Niagara North Stars

While his name might not always be on the score sheet, Redwood has quickly made a name for himself.  The smooth skating defenseman has had a significant impact all over the ice for Niagara.  He has become a staple on a very strong penalty kill unit and remains one of the more discipline players in the league.  Look for Redwood to continue his steady play throughout the rest of the season and into the OMHA Playdowns.

Jordan Thompson - York Simcoe Express

Thompson is a big power forward and usually is the hardest working player on the ice. Thompson rarely takes a shift off and is effective in all three zones of the rink.
