Qualification requirements and program updates for the 2014-2015 season

Effective 2014-2015, all Clinic registration will be completed online. To do this, Clinic Participants will have to create an eHockey Profile. Creating an eHockey account will all allow participants the ability to view their profile including qualifications and expiry dates. Centres wishing to host clinics and accept online payment will be required to create a Merchant Account through the Hockey Canada Registry (HCR).

Setting Up an eHockey Profile & Checking Certification

Participants can access their profile, including qualifications, on the Hockey Canada Registry by establishing an eHockey account.

General Clinic Information

  • Clinic participants will no longer be issued a Card at the completion of the clinic they attend. Qualifications will be posted to the participant’s HCR Profile upon completion of the clinic and can be accessed through their eHockey account.
  • When teams are being rostered, the key element is that the participant holds the appropriate OMHA qualification and that the expiry date is valid. Qualifications of Team Officials will appear on the approved roster.
  • Certification qualifications for Team Officials are included in this package and will also be posted on our website and in the Manual of Operations.

The universal date for certification expiry is August 31st
There is no grace period for certifications expiring in the current season (as of August 31st,)

‘Respect in Hockey’ Initiative | Learn it. Live it. Pass it on.

At the 2013 Ontario Minor Hockey Association Annual General Meeting, the Board of Directors announced the OMHA will move to become a complete ‘Respect’ integrated association effective the 2014-2015 season.

Effective August 31, 2014, the ‘Respect in Hockey’ initiative will require all Team Officials, On-Ice Volunteers, On-Ice Officials and Parents to complete the appropriate ‘Respect’ education.
