Growth and Development of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association Will Be Discussed During 80th Annual General Meeting

Several initiatives related to the growth and development of hockey across the province will be discussed during the Annual General Meeting, which will officially get under way at 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning at the Sheraton Parkway Hotel in Richmond Hill. Five hundred voting delegates will consider thirty Notices of Motion. 

On Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. CityTV’s Breakfast Television Host, Kevin Frankish will be the Masters of Ceremonies for the 2014 OMHA Dinner and Awards Celebration.  The event will highlight accomplishments from the past year and recognize individuals that have made outstanding contributions to the Ontario Minor Hockey Association. 

Saturdaymorning, sport radio personalities Andy Frost, the public address announcer of the Toronto Maple Leafs games [and host of the Psychedelic Psunday radio show on Toronto's Q107 FM] and media celebrity Don Landry will host the Parade of Champions, an event recognizing 40 Ontario Minor Hockey Association Championship teams. 

The Hometown Hockey Consumer Show will run throughout the AGM. It will provide vendors, merchandise manufacturers an opportunity to showcase their products and services to the 4,000 attendees. The show will also feature an autograph signing session with Philadelphia Flyers Goaltender, Steve Mason taking place Friday from 3:00 p.m,. to 7:00 p.m. while Nashville Predators Forward, Rich Clune will meet the public from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. 

The OMHA will continue its service with educational programs for members Friday afternoon with a special OMHA Presidents’ Symposium hosted by CBC radio personality Dan Pollard. Throughout the weekend various seminars pertaining to the new Respect in Sport program as well as the Head Trainers program will be available for Association leaders to attend. 
Over 4,000 people – players, coaches, administrators and fans will attend the OMHA’s AGM. It will be held on Friday June 13 and Saturday, June 14 at the Sheraton Parkway Hotel, 600 Highway 7 East in Richmond Hill, ON.
