Bulldogs Top List for Third Straight Edition

Richmond Hill, ON – The Ontario Minor Hockey Association has released the third edition of the Minor Midget AAA Top 5 Rankings for the 2013-14 regular season.  It seems there is no stopping the Bulldogs as they continue to cruise through the SCTA without a loss.  The Clarington Toros have been very hot in the last two weeks and have vaulted themselves into the number two slot.  South Central continues to impress and have also yet to lose this season, moving from fourth to third. Whitby, after a slow start, has put together a few wins and are in the thick of mix for the top of the ETA, while York Simcoe coming off a dramatic tie against South Central take the number 5 spot.

Players to Watch:
Matthew Barnes (Barrie Colts) – Matthew is a two way defenseman that is very noticeable on the back end for the Colts every time you see this team play.  Barnes is a very competitive player who battles very hard for loose pucks and position on the ice.  He brings a physical aspect to the game and mixes this with a great ability to lead or join the rush.  Shows great patience with the puck on the power play creating for others and allowing himself room to get his hard shot off.

Cameron Morrison (York Simcoe Express) – Cameron is a big bodied center that plays a power forward type of game.  He is able to use his mix of size and skill to create room on the ice for his wingers and also to allow him to drive the net.  He sees the ice very well and when he wants to he can take a game into his own hands.  He has 9 goals in as many games this year and is a go to player for the Express.

Sean Allen (Guelph Jr. Gryphons) – Allen is a big reason why this Guelph team has gotten off to a good start in this young season.  He is a defenseman with good size and mobility allowing him to move around the defensive zone with ease.  He is very powerful and strong making it hard for opposing attackers to gain ground in front of the net or win battles in corners.  Every team wants a player like Allen on their back end and he will be watched closely this season.
