Step onto the ice confident in your ability to encourage participation amongst your athletes while helping them have fun!

The Coach 2 - Coach Level Clinic focuses on getting your players moving in the right way and enjoying themselves while introducing them to the sport of hockey. You will also learn the fundamentals of fitness and how to be a positive role model to your athletes. 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon completing this clinic you will be trained to: 

  • Use HOCKEY CANADA resources to plan on/off-ice activities; 
  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, officials and league administrators;
  • Encourage participants and work within fair play guidelines; 
  • Conduct safe, effective and age appropriate on-ice practice drills; 
  • Apply an ethical decision making process. 

CLINIC STRUCTURE

All Team Officials are required to Complete the *HU - Planning a Safe Return to Hockey.

The *Coach 2 - Coach Level Qualification will be delivered as follows:

Step 1:

Register for the Hockey University *HU - ONLINE Coach 1 / Coach 2 course and / or the Hockey University *HU – ONLINE Checking course. Upon registration, the embedded Hockey University link(s) can be found in your Clinic information email(s). These online courses must be completed in order to register for the *Coach 2 - Coach Level Qualification clinic.

Note: If you already have the Hockey University *HU - ONLINE Coach 1 / Coach 2 and/or *HU – ONLINE Checking courses, you are not required to take it again.

Step 2:

Register for the *Coach 2 – Coach Level Qualification clinic.

EVALUATION & CERTIFICATION

Upon successful attendance and completion of all pre-clinic and in-clinic tasks, the coach participant is deemed to hold Coach 2 - Coach Level ‘Trained’ status. The requirements to become Coach 2 - Coach Level ‘Certified’ are successful completion of the following tasks:

  1. MED - Online evaluation
  2. Written Assignment – Coach 2 - Coach Level Clinic Post Task/Log Book
