Whitby Wildcats Minor Peewee A Blue Win the Internation Silver Stick Finals

The Whitby Wildcats Minor Peewee A Blue hockey team returned home this weekend [January 10th- 13th ] Champions of the International Silver Stick Finals Tournament held in Newmarket.
The Boys played hard through the round robin going undefeated with wins over Burlington Eagles[ 5-2], Newmarket Redmen [4-1] and Aurora Tigers [6-1].
In the Semi Finals Whitby faced Napanee Stars , after 3 periods of play the game was tied 2-2 and needed overtime. The game was fast, the pace was furious, after a hard fought battle and a grueling 6 overtime periods Whitby scores to earn their spot in the Finals with a 3-2 victory.
In the Finals Whitby faced Woodstock Jr Navy Vets a strong and talented team who were also undefeated. In that game Whitby showed their true heart and character, the Boys were relentless and earned the title of International Silver Stick Champions with a convincing 4-0 win
