Wednesday, October 10, 2012 Georgina, ON: - The Georgina Blaze Minor Atom AA team captured the Georgetown Best Of The Best championship over the Thanksgiving weekend. The Blaze finished round robin play with two wins and a tie securing a spot in the semi finals Sunday morning. The Blaze fell behind Whitby 3-1 early in the game but battled back to win 6-4 and earn a trip to the finals. The finals meant a chance to play Orangeville once again as the two teams met previously in the finals of the Richmond Hill Early Bird Tournament. An evenly matched game saw both teams battle scoreless until the mid way point of the second when the Blaze would score to take the lead. The teams would exchange goals in the third however the Blaze would hold on to a 2-1 victory and the tournament win.
