Host Locations Announced for 2010 OHF Championships

Toronto, ON: -  The Ontario Hockey Federation [OHF] is pleased to announce the selection and approval of the OHF Championship host communities. The OHF Championships are a pinnacle event that marks the end of the playing season for 500 players. This event provides players with exciting championship rivalry and the host with the opportunity to showcase the community.

The OHF Championship hosts are selected based on a rotation schedule within the participating minor hockey Member Partners. The minor hockey Member Partners selects a host based on a set of criteria. These selections are then presented to the OHF Championship Committee for approval.

The 2010 OHF Championships will begin on Friday, April 9, 2010 and will wrap up with Championship games taking place on Sunday, April 11, 2010. A welcome banquet will take place on Thursday, April 8, 2010.

The following are the 2010 OHF Championships host associations:

Atom A - Port Credit Storm
Atom AA - Timmins Minor Hockey Association
Atom AAA - Kitchener Minor Hockey Association
PeeWee A - Owen Sound Minor Hockey Association
PeeWee AA - London Jr. Knights
Bantam A - Burlington Lions Optimist Minor Hockey Association
Bantam AA - Newmarket Minor Hockey Association
Midget A - Porcupine Gold Kings
Midget AA - North Toronto
Juvenile - East Ender Ticats

To conclude the 2009-2010 minor hockey playing season, OHF will play host to the All-Ontario PeeWee AAA Championship [Huron-Perth Lakers], the Central Region Midget AAA Championship [Vaughan Kings] plus ten Branch Championships. All championship information is available online at www.ohf.on.ca.

The OHF is the largest Branch of Hockey Canada with over 220,000 registered participants. The OHF governs minor, junior, and senior hockey with the support of its seven Member Partners. The OHF along with Hockey Northwestern Ontario and the Ottawa District Hockey Association govern amateur hockey in the Province of Ontario.
