Oakville Novice A Rangers OMHA Champs

The Oakville Rangers, Quickplay Media and Heat Cool Services, Novice A hockey team are now the "Red Cap" OMHA Champions of the Central Ontario Novice A Division for the 2007-08 season.
On Friday March 28th Oakville captured the best of five series with a 5-2 victory over Orillia to bring home the, Ed Brown Memorial Trophy.
"These were definitely our toughest games this year", said Head Coach Dwayne Clarke. The first 4 games saw scores of
3-1 for Oakville, a draw 1-1, a 3-2 win for Orillia, and a 4-3 win for Oakville. Clarke pointed out, both teams played with
a great deal of enthusiasm.
Clarke said, "There are 17 leaders on this team, I know this is the first of many OMHA Championships, for all of these children, but the truly rewarding memories, for all of them, were not made on the ice, but the friendships they gained in the dressing room. The OMHA Champions red cap is a bonus."

Players between the pipes, for the OMHA Champions are Colton Incze and Kyle Salmon. Rounding out the team are, Tyler Sampson, Kyle Petta Ionescu, Kyle Barrett, Mike Matson, Harrison Clarke, Brett Goold, Jacob Gower, Cole Purboo, Curtis Fernandes, Joey Berkopec, Ryan Menne, James Gabura, Jacob Saunders, Liam Donnelly, Nathaniel Gerchikov.
Assistant coaches are Desmond Fernandes, Scott Goold, Steve Sampson. Team Manger is Judy Gower and Assistant Team Manager is Nigela Purboo.
The 2007-08 Novice A Rangers are OMHA Champions, Undefeated Tournament Champions, twice, Tournament Finalists, First Place League Division, having a regular season record of 22 wins 4 losses, 2 ties and a record of 54 wins, 7 losses and 6 ties for all game play.
